Exclusive Optimus Prime Image from TRANSFORMERS REVENGE OF THE FALLEN

Paramount/DreamWorks has just given us an exclusive image from director Michael Bay’s upcoming blockbuster “Transformers Revenge of the Fallen”. As you can see, it shows Optimus either getting ready to battle someone with sword in hand, or he’s just defeated someone. Either way, it looks awesome.
But I’m biased. I thought the first “Transformers” movie was incredible, and I think Michael Bay was born to helm these movies. Mo matter what you think of the guy, he knows how to film action. And what better franchise is there than giant f*cking robots punching each other.
While this summer has been filled with great movies, the end of June brings up “Transformers Revenge of the Fallen”. And I can’t wait.
And one last thing, while movie studios have been embracing the online world with more and more viral campaigns, I think “Revenge of the Fallen” is going to be the first one that uses the movie to help promote the campaign. If you saw the recent trailer, the back of Shia’s shirt has a website url on it and it’s for an actual site - therealeffingdeal.com
On top of that one, gianteffingrobots.com has also launched and according to movieviral.com, the site is run by Jon Turturro’s character in the movie. While I usually don’t care about viral stuff, I think the angle they’re taking with this one is kind of cool. If you’re into viral campaigns, you might want to take a look.
Here’s Optimus:

The image is IMAX shaped! Is this from one of the IMAX filmed scenes?!?
how would you know if something is imax shaped or not? i mean im just askin, its nothing personal but creeps like u r always found on ths site, often and frequently. jus explain 2 me how its imax shaped because idk. im not trying 2 be mean or anything but u know thts how i often come of sometimes…jus wanted 2 let u knw tht
I don’t know. I think the movie has 20 something IMAX minutes…maybe this is one of them.
20 minutes? I had not heard that. I heard at least 3 scenes… 20 min, that’s pretty good.
Is that all the bigger Paramount/Dreamworks gave you the image?
The back of that shirt, which im sure is a jacket, that says realeffingdeal.com is Sam’s(Shia) Roommate Leon Spitz (Ramon Rodriguez).
Gianteffingrobots.com is run by Robowarrior, Agent Seymore Simmons (Tutorro).
Also there is a viral site called mendelsonrobotics.com
The action scenes in the first movie are ruined due to his trademark style: shaky cam, close ups, ADHD 1 second editing.(1 second of robots cut to 3 seconds of humans back to robots for incoherent close up robot action)
Not to mention to entire movie is filmed technically like a music video /commercial low sweeping camera angles, slow mo 360 shots,
over dramatic music score playing on loop .
Must of the action scenes in Transformers are jumbled and lack a consistently. All you get is the notion that action took place….its big loud and flashy…..but which soldier was that, where are they located in respect to the other characters and which robot was that. Mainly the the action is set up in quick and fast scenes before cutting back to Shia screaming NONONONONONONONO. Leaving the viewer wondering what just happened.
Maybe if the robot designs didn’t involve 50,000 different parts they wouldn’t be so expensive and could have more screen time or have more wide shots and not so zoomed to the point of giving the impression of metal tumbleweeds rolling around on the ground or flying through the air.
Bay said nobody had any faith in the movie and he felt like he was shooting a dumb fucking robot movie. So no wonder the plot, dialogue, comedy, and most of all action are ruined . The people involved had no faith in the movie and only wanted to come in under budget and on schedule or work with Spielberg.
@Hadron: what the heck are you talking about? Transformers visuals are excellent and this second movie seems to be a major improvement once again. Filmed like a music video, what? And anyway there music videos that are top notch and filmed like movies… did you know?
Did you watch just low quality pirated downscaled copies of Transformers on small screens, uh? Because only if that’s the case you couldn’t obviously follow the action scenes properly.
nice keyword, Michael Bar.
wonder if he is ever confused with Michael Bay.
@Hadron
youve sat on a couch all your life - thats a statement not an accusation btw
i will explain by way of a question: what do you know about action?
i watched the first movie just before shipping out and i had some of your doubts, though i cut Bay some slack because i play sports and action happens kinda like he portrays it
then i found a new repect for the guy
i watched the movie again after i came back from iraq and let me tell you, the man KNOWS action. you say his direction is unbelievable? im telling you its exactly what its like to be there in the thick of it. its confusing, its fast, you dont get clear views its just REAL.
im missing 2 toes to show i know what im talking about (yeah i know… toes, weird things happen) so its kind of annoying when people rag on something they dont know anything about like theyre some kinda ‘realism’ guru.
i just loved the whole movie..
i was really blown away!!
release the sequel..
Well its very simple here that optimus prime is a truck?
