Exclusive: Aaron Johnson talks KICK-ASS

A lot of you haven’t heard about director Matthew Vaughn’s “Kick-Ass”. That’s going to change over the next few days. The reason is, of course, Comic-Con.
On Thursday afternoon, Vaughn will be world premiering footage in Hall H from his independent comic-book movie, but with a cast featuring Nicolas Cage, Aaron Johnson, Christopher Mintz-Plasse, Clark Duke and Mark Strong, you have to wonder how long it’ll be an independent as some studio is going to buy this thing after the crowd goes crazy.
Anyway, I was recently in London and got a chance to speak with Aaron Johnson on the set of his latest film “Chatroom” and he talked about making “Kick-Ass” and a lot more. It’s after the jump so take a look:
During our interview, Aaron talks about the film, why he won’t be at Comic-Con, reveals we’re getting 8 minutes of footage in San Diego, and says about the action and gore:
“If you think of an eleven-year-old girl with two samurai swords cutting people’s heads off saying, ‘What cunt’s next?’ then that’s the sort of film you’re into.”
I cannot wait. Here’s the synopsis and Aaron. Look for my full interview about “Chatroom” closer to that film’s release.
The movie centers on a high school dweeb named Dave Lizewski who decides to become a superhero even though he has no athletic ability or coordination. Things change when he eventually runs into real bad guys with real weapons.

“A Cougar is a woman that is strong, knows her territory, and goes after her prey relying on experience to guide her. Cougars of the world are beginning to see that they are what men really want. Males seeking to spend time with Cougars are often called “Hunters” or “Prey”. **** AgelessMate C om **** seeks to facilitate meetings between these creatures.”
Milar simply sold this from the beginning
A movie deal before the series has completed a story arc….c’mon….with wanted 2 in the movie slate Milar can simply be put as the biggest sell out in comic-writer history.
I did however…enjoy the first 3 issues of Kick-Ass…but…without any conclusion…how can a movie really be made????
is his voice really that dark?! or is he ill?!
i mean nearly famous or angus thongs and perfect snogging aren’t THAT long ago, i can’t believe his voice changed that much! :O:O
