Thanks to Idris Elba’s Twitter account, the first image from director Sylvain White’s “The Losers” has hit the web. As you can see, the image shows Idris Elba, Columbus Short, Chris Evans, Oscar Jaenada, and Jeffrey Dean Morgan on the set somewhere in Puerto Rico. More on the movie and the full image after the jump:

Since the film is currently in production and many of you might not be familiar with the comic book series… “The Losers” is based on the Vertigo comic book and it was written by Peter Berg (”Friday Night Lights”) and James Vanderbilt (”Zodiac”) and produced by Joel Silver (”Orphan”, the “Matrix” trilogy) and Akiva Goldsman (”Hancock”, “I Am Legend”).

According to IMDB, “after being betrayed and left for dead, members of a CIA black ops team root out those who targeted them for assassination.” The team is Clay (Morgan), Jensen (Evans), Roque (Elba), Pooch (Short) and Cougar (Jaenada).

While I’d love to say a lot more on this film, I can’t…for now. So until I can say more, take a look at the full picture from the set of the film. “The Losers” gets released April 9, 2010.

And if you’re curious about comic book series, below the picture is a link to the first trade papaerback.

If Evans is going to get this buff, then just make him Capt. America and get if over with. Y'know what would be cool on these sites? More open talk backs to the studios about what should and should not happen in up-coming films. Thor is going to tank at the box office - pretty much certain. If there had been more input from fans earlier on in the casting process (like who was that tranny they got to play Loki? on whose list was that guy?) they could have saved millions. It would be nice to see sites like this one get more comments - also, why doesn't this site get more comments?
