Bootleg Version of the New AVATAR Trailer Lands Online Along with New Images

In a move no one could have expected, the new three and a half minute trailer for James Cameron’s “Avatar” has been bootlegged and put on the Internet.  Obviously, it’s unfair to judge the visuals based on this trailer but oddly enough, it made me want to see it in theaters because the visual scope is so massive that a tiny, handheld camera can’t begin to capture it.  There are some new photos we’ve included after the jump but apparently all those do is make people bitch that the CG looks crappy.  Sigh.

But as for the (remarkably steady) bootleg what you’ll get most is story.  Some would argue that it gives the whole film away, but this is an adventure story and since it’s obvious where it’s heading, Fox is making a big push to get people interested especially after “Avatar Day” flopped.  I’m already excited to see “Avatar” because it looks like a big, fun adventure story and that’s good enough for me.  For everyone else hit the jump and hopefully this new trailer will turn you around on the film.  The official online version of this trailer goes online October 29th but you can catch it in theaters starting today.

Trailer has been removed at the request of the studio.

First of all let me make you clear that Avatar Day wasn’t flop a lot all over the country went to see it only because of James Cameron and second you think Tron-2 will blow everybody’s mind in 3d but I hate to disagree with you there.I think Avatar has more scope than tron and I bet you that the story of the avatar is way better than tron-2 .I don’t count down Tron too but I think Avatar is way better than that.Just wait for the movie to release then see how this movie blow everybody’s mind.Matt let’s see you make a movie and I would like to review it.Let’s see how great you are you like to bash films haa well remember me next time me brother.Looks like you forget to take your mammy to movies my child.I respected your views till lately now I don’t .Go to hell.

Watched part of it at start, part of the end. GREAT STUFF! Like the use of ‘My Name is Lincoln’ from “The Island”. Also that they show the more scifi credits of James Cameron this time around instead of just “Titanic”. Too bad they didn’t mention “The Abyss”.

    IMAX 3D here I come!!!

Why do bloggers always report inaccurate descriptions in the interest of snark? And, unfunny snark at that. Avatar Day wasn’t a flop; don’t know what city you went to (or didn’t). Please try to inform your readers more, and try to give less of your pathetic “humour.”

Did you guys read a different article? This is tame snarkiness for Matt Goldberg. lol.

Seem to me like he is frustrated with knee jerk reactions in the replies (smurfs, etc.) and is genuinely looking forward to seeing this, even saying he’s more inclined to see it in the theater after looking at the poor quality of the bootleg.

What evidence are you guys citing that Avatar Day WASN’T a flop? If you have none, then it’s just one empty comment against another. (No, that hint at anecdotal evidence doesn’t count, Jizzle.)

Anyway, I want to go see this in the theater now too! I’m betting it’s in front of Astro Boy… I wonder what else.

My only gripe is that some of the dialogue sounds too on-the-nose and simple. I guess that’s what you pull out for a trailer, though. :o/

Yes, the story will be somewhat simple and something that has been done before, but MOST giant hits are like that when you boil them down. The details count, especially in a movie like this.
