Opening this Friday is director Roland Emmerich’s 2012.  As most of you have seen in commercials and trailers, 2012 is about a global cataclysm that causes massive destruction to our planet.  If you’re keeping count, this is Emmerich’s third time blowing up our planet (Independence Day, The Day After Tomorrow) and I think he’s learned from his previous efforts to deliver his biggest spectacle yet.  Trust me, this movie is loaded with some of the craziest special effects you’ll see this year and if you want to have some fun, grab a popcorn and soda and hit a theater this weekend.

To help promote the film, our partners at Omelete were invited to the international press day and they sent me to cover it.  So after the jump you can watch my interview with American Idol runner up Adam Lambert.  He provided a song for the film.  During my interview we talked about nail polish, Twitter and Facebook, Guitar Hero and Rock Band, making his first record, and a lot more.  Take a look:

Adam Lambert

  • Mac nail polish talk. You’ll see….
  • Twitter or Facebook
  • Guitar Hero or Rock Band and is he the ringer that friends call for help in the game
  • I suggest doing a twit video of him playing Rock Band
  • How difficult was it to pick the songs for his album with the limited time to make it. Talks about how he wrote some of the songs
  • We talk about the tracks that didn’t make the album and could they be B-sides
  • Could any of his music be in Rock Band and how hard would it be to sing

What a terrific interview, it was like a real conversation. Very entertaining. Adam Lambert seems like such a nice guy, and his voice on that 2012 song is ridic. Just amazing. Looking forward to seeing the flick in the theater to get the full effect of millions of dollars worth of CGI porn, love it.

Great interview, thanks. It’s so great to hear that the producers gave Adam so much control on what songs he wanted and how they would sound. Adam is insanely talented and I look forward to his new cd. I hope you will have more chats with him in the future.

    A male interviewer FINALLY.

The female interviewers always make me cringe.

Holy Crap an interviewer that knows how to interview…I did not follow Idol this year, but, I heard Mr Lambert on the trailer for 2012, I was shocked, his voice brought back memories for me. Freddie M. was a favorite of mine. I wish this new artist lots of luck, He is bringing back something to music that has been missing for quite a while.

Great interview. I’m not a huge American Idol fan but did tune in this past year because everyone I knew was raving about this Adam Lambert guy & how he was going to be the next great rock icon. I have to say I was impressed. He can really sing & his song for this movie reminds me of the old Freddie Mercury & Steven Tyler rock ballads of the 70’s & 80’s. I actally think, and this is saying a lot for me, that he’s even got better pipes than those two. I became an instant fan. Thanks for a great man interview. Seems like it’s usually women who interview Adam so this was a nice change.

Great interview. I love it when an interviewer throws a few curve balls at Adam because he is so charming, articulate and quick witted that his responses are always interesting and entertaining. Loved the nail polish bit. Thanks.

Thank you very much for such a great interview!! it’s so refreshing to see someone be so comfortable with Adam, to make him feel at ease too, and also ask him intelligent and interesting questions, as Adam is very bright, witty and fascinating!!! i’m so tired of the lame, dumb, questions about the same ‘ol stuff.
awesome, awesome job, hope to see more of you in the future!!

What a great interview, being an uber fan I have seen them all, and this was terrific, you have a great conversational style, connected very well with him and asked fun and interesting questions as well as excellent questions on the album. Of course you know that once fans hear there are different tracks on different albums they will buy them ALL LOL!!! This guys has no B sides, every song is a vocal gem. Funny comment on the rock band, I can’t sing worth crap but score really well on singing cuz I am so good at following the notes, I think I would beat him!!!

This was a great interview! Everyone picked up on how different it was to hear a man do an interview. I noticed most women are so intralled with Adam and his charm, they giggle and fall all over him, ask the usual or stupid questions. I watch Oprah the other day and she asked what he was doing before Idol. Huh? That was the best she could do????

  21. Kyle @

    good interview.

So, who’s the chick in the picture?
