Trailer and Posters for EXTRAORDINARY MEASURES Starring Harrison Ford and Brendan Fraser

Not to be confused with Extreme Measure, Extraordinary Measures is the heartwarming tale of a father who risked it all to save his kids as opposed to Extreme Measures where Gene Hackman kills homeless people to cure paralysis.  Fraser plays a father whose kids are sick so he spends whatever he has to so a brilliant/eccentric scientist played by Harrison Ford can develop a cure before the kids die.  No harmless are harmed in the making of this cure.

The trailer and two posters for the film have arrived online and they’re both slightly confusing.  In the trailer, folks keep treating Fraser like he’s crazy to spend so much money and push this scientist to develop a cure for the rare illness.  Obviously, the far more sensible thing to do is let his kids perish.  It will hurt for the rest of his life but think of the savings!  As for the posters, one shows Fraser and Ford as a Venn Diagram while the other shows the two modeling the suits they just bought at the Men’s Wearhouse (and they like the way the look). Hit the jump to check out the trailer and the posters.  Extraordinary Measures hits theaters on January 22, 2010.

Yeah the posters are dumb. Say la vi.

As for the trailer, I don’t think its too confusing to show people arguing they shouldn’t push themselves too far. My best friend was going to die before I knew her. Her chest was caving in and cutting her organs and pinching her nerves. Mayo Clinic had an experimental surgery they wanted to try. They would basically crack her open and break her chest then wire it back up where it should be. If they didn’t do this, she would be dead right before New Year’s. The odds against it working were huge. Members of her own extended family and some friends advised she and her parents to just make peace and not break the bank for something with low odds. They put it all on the line, and she is still alive today. The thing is, we’re a shallow race, and some people will always put money over human lives.

As for Ford, looks like a good part for him. I’m VERY surprised he took second billing. It’s a second billing part to be sure, but he hasn’t had his name second since ‘Return of the Jedi’!

Fraser’s better than most give him credit for, and I HEART Keri Russell. Too bad she’s taken. lol.

I’ll rent this next spring. Good family tearjerker

Call me a sap, but I really enjoyed it, but perhaps it’s the dad in me that can’t imagine not doing EVERYTHING possible to save my children. The last thing I’d worry about is going bankrupt, and after that, I’d sell organs on the black market.
I’m a huge fan of Harrison’s work, and I’m glad to seem him in a role of substance again, something that he can sink his teeth into.

    I’ll have my popcorn ready.
