Bright and early on the morning of January 31
st, Frosty and I journeyed up into the
Hollywood hills and started what will hopefully be a long and hard relationship with Vivid Entertainment, the makers of such modern adult classics as
The New Devil in Miss Jones and their recent releases
My Evil Twin and
Karma. It was our first visit to a porno shoot and we were e
xcited. Frosty was on his second cup of coffee, which isn't such a safe idea, and I was just thrilled to be there. Most people only dream about doing something like this, but this is our job.
INTERVIEW WITH MERCEDEZ - PART 1
On the set of Grudge, 01-31-06
Interview by Scott Swan
SCOTT SWAN: I guess the first thing that I’m curious about is do all adult movies start this early?
MERCEDEZ: Yeah, they usually start at nine in the morning. Sometimes eight.
SS: Most people don’t know that. I think that if they knew that there would be a greater appreciation...
M: I think they think we get together and party and have sex occasionally and shoot it.
SS: This is a real job.
M: Yeah.
SS: I think that’s the real secret, that this is a real job.
M: Yeah, it is. We don’t run around all day, sex everywhere, it’s not this huge party...
SS: Oh, but it would be awesome if you did.
M: P.T. is pretty serious about the acting and stuff like that.
SS: It’s a business.
M: Right.
SS: And most people in this business have their acts together. Is that your observation?
M: Yeah, the majority of them. You’d be surprised.
SS: Let’s shift the interview back to you. If I’m not mistaken, you’re the winner of the 2003 Miss Nude...
M: Miss Nude Universe. Yeah.
SS: As well as a few other nude contests, as well?
M: Right.

SS: There’s about three people in the word I feel comfortable being naked in front of. And I just wonder what it’s like to have that much confidence that you could stand up in front of people and say, “You know what, I look great.” And then they say, “Yes, you do. You have the best body in the universe.”
M: I’ve always been comfortable on stage. In junior high I did talent shows. It’s different when you’re up on stage compared to like if I just took my clothes off here in from of everyone. I probably wouldn’t just stand around naked.
SS: It’s all context.
M: Yeah, it’s the stage, the lights, it’s the people under you...
SS: But still, there has to be a certain level of confidence.
M: Yeah, there is. When I get up on the stage I’m one person. And when I get off I’m not that person anymore. But up on stage, definitely...
