As most of you know, “The Spirit” is arriving in movie theaters this December. Since this is a comic book based movie…it’s no surprise that Mezco is making toys based on the characters. While the final number of toys is based on how well the movie performs and the toys sell, we’ll at least be getting 5 of them as The Spirit, The Octopus, Plaster Of Paris, Sand Seref and Pathos are all in the first wave.

So if you’re interesting in the toys, here’s a little about each character and a bunch of images:

The Spirit Series 1 Seven Inch Figures

Mezco presents “The Spirit” movie action figures, based on the upcoming big budget December 2008 film, a sinister gut wrenching tale of a hero born, murdered and born again. Written and directed by genre-twister Frank Miller. This first series contains 5 dynamic figures:

The Spirit - The resurrected, masked vigilante sports more than 19 points of articulation, and comes with alternate fighting hands, a crowbar, a manhole cover, and one of his many pet cats.

The Octopus- This evil mastermind features over 13 points of articulation. Includes two big guns, a massive wrench, alternate hands and a removable hat.

Plaster Of Paris- This sultry villainess features 9 points of articulation, and comes with a short sword, alternate hand with mini daggers and display base.

Sand Seref- A jewel thief with dangerous curves features 13 points of articulation. Also included is her  pistol and a trunk.

Pathos- One of the thugs of the Octopus, this henchman features 8 points of articulation, a machine gun and alternate hand.
