Kristen Bell Goes to ROME with Mark Stephen Johnson

I can never figure out how I feel about Kristen Bell. On the one hand, she's very attractive and I'm shallow so that's the first thing I notice. On the other hand, her breakthrough role as the eponymous "Veronica Mars" was one I hated. Yes, it had dramatic range, but I just really disliked the character and watched more for the supporting cast and the mysteries (season one was good, season two was awful, season three had one good mystery, and then a mystery with a twist so awful I decided to just quit caring).
If I had more hands, I could say that yes, she's in "Forgetting Sarah Marshall" but on the other hand, she decided to do "Heroes" which has a large audience but is also in the midst of a backlash. And if you're in the middle of a shitty show that fans are now saying is somehow worst, that's not where you want to be.
But now she's tilting the scale towards the negative by starring in Mark Stephen Johnson's romantic comedy "When in Rome". Mark Stephen Johnson, who brought us "Daredevil" and "Ghost Rider" is...how shall I put this...BAD. He is bad at what he does. May be the nicest guy in the world. I've never heard a bad word about him. But he's bad at his job. Can't write. Can't direct. Is gonna do both again and he's taking Ms. Bell with him. Here's the synopsis from Variety:
"Bell will play a successful real estate agent in New York who can't find a lasting relationship. When her younger sister impulsively marries in Rome, she flies out for the wedding and, after picking up coins from a reputed "fountain of love," finds an overabundance of suitors waiting for her back home."
Thanks, Mark. We were running out of generic. If I though you were clever enough to write witty dialogue and warm emotions, I would give you a pass and give you and Bell my blessing. You know, because you need the blessing of a guy who writes about movies on the Internet. You certainly need it for your broad romantic comedy.
