Remember late last night when you saw THE DARK KNIGHT? So does everyone else in the entire world.

Variety reports that legions of fans turned out for the late night screenings all across the country and the box office is tally is something to the effect of 18.5 million dollars. That's roughly the same amount of money in one night (and not even a full night) that WALL-E made in every one of its showings last weekend. That's more money for a single showing than "Batman Begins" made in its entire opening day. We're talking pretty major dollars for a film that truly deserves it.

"The Dark Knight" beats out "Revenge of the Sith"'s recording-setting $16.9 million midnight paycheck and has the added benefit of being something people enjoyed watching. Though unofficial at this point, expect for some other records to be shattered this weekend as "The Dark Knight" continues its steady box office rise.
