VOLTRON to the Max - Updated

UPDATE: Variety's gone and done it again and I've unwittingly helped. The following was story was originally broken by your friend and mine El Mayimbe over at Latino Review. You can check out their original story here and read about the ongoing struggle for proper online crediting here. My apologies to Latino Review!
Relativity seems to be making good on its promise to push "Voltron" into production. As they revealed about a week ago, the film will incorporate a cheaper "300" style and use computer-generated backgrounds.
Variety reports that Relativity has tapped a director for the project; none other than Max Makowski! You know, that guy who directed some episodes of "Queer Eye for the Straight Guy"?
No?
But I kid. The guy seems to have a pretty interesting globe-trotting history for a young director and I'll reserve judgment until I've seen him in action. Or in direction. (rimshot!)
Makowski -- born in Brazil -- did direct a 2005 Singapore film called "One Last Dance" which, from the IMDB page, has a number of positive reviews. Then again, the plot line listed is this:
"An assassin is hired to kill the men responsible for kidnapping an important man's son. With every death, the killer gets closer to the last kidnapper's name... his own."
Plus it has a cast list with ridiculous names like "Farting Dog" and "Harvey Keitel".
