Michael Pena may not be an actor that leaps to mind when you think 'funny,' but that could all change soon enough. In an interview on Tuesday with IESB, Pena revealed that Seth Rogen had offered him a role in his adaptation of "The Green Hornet."
Best known for his roles in "Babel" and Oliver Stone's "World Trade Center," neither of which could be considered a laugh riot, Pena said that Rogen himself offered him a part in the Sony feature- though he would not confirm which part. Rogen and Pena met on the set of Jody Hill's forthcoming "Observe and Report," about a mall security officer who battles the police. I'm guessing that they hit it off.
Rogen is still writing the screenplay for "The Green Hornet," an adaptation of the long-running radio-show turned camp TV classic. Rogen will play the title role along side Stephen Chow as the Hornet's henchman Kato. Chow ("Kung Fu Hustle") has also been confirmed as director on the project which is scheduled for release in June of 2010.
