New VALKYRIE Trailer, Featurette and Images

On Thursday night the trailer, a featurette and a bunch of new images for Bryan Singer's "Valkyrie" were unleashed and just as I was beginning to believe that the Nazi thriller was an urban legend.

After years in development and months of delays the world was finally treated to a glimpse at Tom Cruise in his Nazi duds – I'm fairly certain that World War II was wrapped faster than the production of this film. And in case you forgot just how long it has taken for MGM/UA to release their prestige conspiracy pic, the good folk who pieced together the "Valkyrie" trailer kindly set the whole thing to the sound of a ticking clock… that's right Tom Cruise, time's almost up! Soon we'll all know if you can still carry a feature.

Aside from the annoying tick-tock on the soundtrack and the rhythmically-matched jump cuts on the screen, "Valkyrie" doesn't look as horrible as I imagined. Bryan Singer's no hack, and he has assembled a fine bunch of supporting actors for Cruise to conspire with, including Kenneth Branagh, Terrence Stamp and Bill Nighy

"Valkyrie" tells the true story of Claus Von Stauffenberg, the decorated Nazi officer who hatched a daring plan to assassinate Adolph Hitler near the end of World War II.

The film is set for release on December 26… for reals this time I think. Click here for HD of the clips below.
