COMMENTS - Johnny Galecki Exclusive Video Interview – THE BIG BANG THEORY

interesting
I work for Warner Brothers and was involved in the casting process for Big Bang Theory. It was actually a little different than described here. The part of Leonard was written for another actor, who tested here at WB and at CBS but was not cast. Jim Parsons came in and tested against DJ Qualls for the part of Sheldon. Jim was cast first, along with another actress (I forget her name) who was cast in a female role that was eventually written out. It took a while for them to cast the role of Leonard. Jim Parsons came back and read with a few other actors, but none of them worked out. Johnny came in to test against another actor, Kevin Sussman. Johnny was cast and the first pilot was shot. It's interesting how actors sometimes get their stories mixed up like this. Not a big deal, but it was definitely different than described.
