Just a few hours ago I was on the red carpet at the “Bedtime Stories” premiere. While I didn’t land as many interviews as last night, I did manage to get some time with one of my favorite director’s, Judd Apatow. If you don’t know his name, you’ve definitely seen his work, as Judd’s produced and directed tons of projects like “40 Year-Old Virgin”, “Knocked Up”, “Undeclared” and “Freaks and Geeks”!

For the last few months he’s been working on his latest film “Funny People”. The film has a huge cast with Adam Sandler, Seth Rogen, Leslie Mann, Eric Bana, Jonah Hill, and Jason Schwartzman all starring, and he’s got a ton of guest appearances as the movie is all about stand up comedians.

Anyway, on the red carpet we chatted about how “Funny People” has been going and he told me something I hadn’t heard before…tickets are going on sale tomorrow for an event you need to hear about!

It seems the cast of the movie and a number of guests like Patton Oswalt and Sarah Silverman will be doing stand-up in character and it’ll be filmed for the movie! So if you want to see Adam Sandler, Seth Rogen, Jonah Hill and Aziz Ansari, and other surprise special guests do stand up and see the unedited routines…you need to buy tickets at this link tomorrow at noon!

The event is January 13th and I’m sure this will sell out extremely fast!

So here’s Judd to tell us all about how “Funny People” has been going and below the interview is all the info on the event.

"A Night of Funny People": a one-time-only comedy performance that will be filmed for use in Universal Pictures' upcoming Funny People, from writer/director/producer Judd Apatow. The film stars Adam Sandler, Seth Rogen, Leslie Mann, Eric Bana, Jonah Hill, Jason Schwartzman, RZA, Aubrey Plaza and Aziz Ansari.

Judd Apatow hosts, performing live as their characters in the film are: Adam Sandler, Seth Rogen, Jonah Hill and Aziz Ansari, as well as Patton Oswalt and other surprise special guests in the line-up.

Performances are MATURE CONTENT/FOR MATURE AUDIENCES.

The night will benefit the National Multiple Sclerosis Society and 826LA. 826LA is a non-profit organization dedicated to supporting students ages 6 to 18 with their creative and expository writing skills, and to helping teachers inspire their students to write. FUNNY PEOPLE arrives in theaters nationwide on July 31, 2009.
