Exclusive Red Carpet Interviews – FUTURAMA – Bender’s Big Score

A little over a week ago I got to interview the people responsible for bringing “Futurama” to life. The event where the interviews took place was on the red carpet at the Arclight Theater in Hollywood, where the premiere of “Bender’s Big Score,” the first of four straight to DVD “Futurama” movies, was being held. So before the movie began I interviewed most of the voice cast along with David H. Cohen – the head writer and one of the executive producers. But rather than posting all six interviews in one article, I’ve divided it up into three parts.

So posted below is David Herman and Tress MacNeille – two of the people who do a lot of the voices. If you’d like to watch Phil LaMarr and Maurice LaMarche click here, and for David X. Cohen and Billy West click here.

Finally, I want to give a big thank you to the cast of the show for doing the interviews, along with another thanks to Fox for bringing back a great show. I got to watch the movie after doing the interviews and I thought it was quite funny and definitely worth watching. And for those who don’t know, “Bender’s Big Score” hits retail stores this Tuesday.

Anyway, here are some of the video interviews. Hope you enjoy them.

David Herman

  • I ask if the beard was him trying to escape recognition from a certain films of the 1990’s… Office Space
  • We talk about Office Space and how popular it’s been over the years
  • Idiocracy talk.
  • Futurama talk. What’s it like coming back to the show?
  • Does he have a favorite of the 4 upcoming made for DVD Futurama movies
  • What characters he plays on the show
  • Since Family Guy did a live table read, I ask if there are any plans to do a live Futurama table read.
  • Has he been to Comic-Con
  • He talks about what else he’s working on

Tress MacNeille

  • What’s it like doing the show again
  • How many of the DVD movies are coming and has she done all her voices
  • Has she seen the new movie and what did she think
  • She lists some of the characters she plays like Mom, Linda, Hattie McDoogal and a lot more.
