Also, I decided to spend most of the time talking about Sundance and each person’s upcoming projects. Needless to say, the interviews would be very dated if I ran them in late February.

Anyway, posted below is my interview with Michel Gondry. As someone who is always doing original and innovative things in the world of cinema, I’ll admit I was very excited to talk with him. Also, I really wanted to know about his next film “Tokyo,” as I knew he was making it with Bong Joon-ho, and he last directed the great movie “The Host.”

And for the few who don’t know Michel Gondry’s name…. he’s directed a ton of music videos and the movies “Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind,” “The Science of Sleep,” and “Dave Chappelle's Block Party.”

Finally, for those who don’t know what “Be Kind Rewind” is about…. The very short summary is Jack Black unintentionally erases all the tapes in a video store where his best friend works, and they're forced to re-create and re-film every movie the customers decide to rent. And if you've seen any Michel Gondry movie, you know it has a very interesting visual look.

• When he was writing Be Kind Rewind…was he writing it for anyone particular?
• I ask if the rumors of him wanting to use Back to the Future in the movie were true
• Tokyo talk – his next project with Bong Joon-ho. It’s a three part movie directed by three different directors, his is 30-35 minutes and it’s all in Japanese with Japanese actors. He does say it’s his trademark style.
• Master of Space and Time talk – he says for now it’s not happening.
