8 Movie Clips from THE CURIOUS CASE OF BENJAMIN BUTTON

Opening on Christmas Day is “The Curious Case of Benjamin Button” and it’s the new David Fincher movie that stars Brad Pitt, Cate Blanchett, Taraji P. Henson, Julia Ormond, Jason Flemyng, Elias Koteas and Tilda Swinton.

By now most of you have heard of the film, so I feel like repeating the synopsis is a waste. But for the few that haven’t….

“I was born under unusual circumstances.”  And so begins “The Curious Case of Benjamin Button,” adapted from the 1920s story by F. Scott Fitzgerald about a man who is born in his eighties and ages backwards.  A man, like any of us, unable to stop time.  We follow his story set in New Orleans from the end of World War I in 1918, into the 21st century, following his journey that is as unusual as any man’s life can be.  Directed by David Fincher, “The Curious Case of Benjamin Button” is a time traveler’s tale of the people and places he bumps into along the way, the loves he loses and finds, the joys of life and the sadness of death, and what lasts beyond time.

I managed to see the movie last night and I have to say…it’s definitely something you need to see. While the special effects are amazing, what drew me in more than anything was the way the movie talked about love and life, death and getting old. While the movie doesn’t have huge action set pieces, it’s a movie that could only be made in Hollywood. “Benjamin Button” is an old fashioned movie told with 21st century parts.

While I see a lot of movies….very few stay with me after I’ve seen them. The unfortunate part of my job is I’m forced to see so much that I never have time to savor the meal and take it in later. But last night I woke up in the middle of the night thinking about “Benjamin Button” and what the film meant to me. All I can say is…I’ll be watching this movie again very soon and I’m sure I’ll notice many things I missed the first time.

And for more on "Benjamin Button", here's Matt's review. It's much more eloquent than anything I just wrote....

Anyway, with the movie coming out in a few weeks, we’ve been provided with 8 clips from the movie so take a look. Also, I did interviews with a lot of the cast today so look for those soon.
