When Steve sent me this story from The Hollywood Reporter with all major "Scott Pilgrim vs. The World" parts filled out, I thought about doing this massive article where I would take headshots from each of the actors and then put it side-by-side with the character they're playing, like I've done with Kieran Culkan for Wallace Wells, Aubrey Plaza for Julie Powers, Ellen Wong for Knives Chau, and Chris Evans for Lucas Lee.
But there's just too much casting. I have about one shred of journalistic integrity left; one ounce of allowing myself to be open to the possibility that this film won't be amazing. If I sell that off, then I'm just a fanboy and while I love all of Edgar Wright's work, while I think he's assembled an amazing cast, and while I think he'll do justice to a comic series I love, I can't just up and quit and create the "Scott Pilgrim vs. The World" fansite. This economy just won't allow for it.
So with that disclaimer out of the way, let's see who'll be joining the aforementioned actors and stars Michael Cera (Scott Pilgrim) and Ramona Flowers (Mary Elizabeth Winstead):
Sex Bob-Omb n Friends
Mark Webber ("The Hottest State") will play Scott's friend and Sex Bob-omb frontman, Stephen Stills.
Alison Pill ("Milk") will play Scott's sardonic friend (and ex-girlfriend) and Sex Bob-omb's drummer, Kim Pine.
Johnny Simmons ("The Spirit", he played young Spirit) will play Sex Bob-omb's devoted fan, Young Neil. Of all the casting for the film so far, Simmons bears the most uncanny resemblance to his comic-counterpart.
Anna Kendrick ("Twilight") will play Scott's younger and smarter but loving sister, Stacey.
A League of Evil-Exes

Brie Larson ("The United States of Tara") will play Scott's evil-ex, Envy Adams who is also the lead singer and keyboardist of the band The Clash at Demonhead.
Brandon Routh ("Superman Returns") will play Ramona's third evil-ex boyfriend, Todd Ingram who uses the power of veganism. He's also the bassist for The Clash at Demonhead and dating Envy.
Satya Bhabba ("Swordswallowers and Thin Men") will play Ramona's first evil-ex boyfriend, Matthew Patel who can summon evil demon hipster girls.
Mae Whitman ("Arrested Development"—that's right, George Michael and Ann Veal are back together!) will play Ramona's fourth evil-ex Roxy Richter who is half-ninja ("Her?").
So with all this casting, what does it all mean: well first, this movie is going to be at least all the first four books with possibly plot and characters from the yet-to-be-released fifth and sixth books. Would those be included or would they hold off on that material for a possible sequel?
Whatever they plan to do, we now have casting for every major character in the first four books and that is fucking awesome.
