Scott Rudin to Study Braaaaaaains

Scott Rudin has bought the rights to make a movie about the most studied brain of all time.  No, not Krang from Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (although he certainly warrants more examination) but the brain of Henry Molaison, a man who suffered a brain injury which left him unable to form new memories.

That's right, Scott Rudin is making "Memento 2: There Was a Memento 1?"  Rudin and Columbia Pictures bought the rights to the book "Memory's Ghost: The Nature of Memory and the Strange Tale of Mr. M," by Molaison's doctor, Suzanne Corkin, who studied Molaison for 45 years.  Corkin will write the screenplay which will hopefully include scenes of her reminding Molaison that he owes her money.

Oddly, the film will be told from Corkin's perspective when it seems like the far more interesting story would be told from Molaison's perspective.  It would take some serious imagination to tell that story AND not do it like "Memento".  Presumably, Corkin's tale will try to expand beyond just Molaison's bizarre condition and how memory affects us all.  That or she'll just tell us to remember Sammy Jankis.
