Sony Announces New MEN IN BLACK Movie at ShoWest
4/1/2009

Sony just did their ShoWest 2009 presentation and while I’ll write up a full report in a few minutes, a few major things were just announced/confirmed so I wanted to get the info online asap.

The big news from their presentation was Rory Bruer (the President of Sony Worldwide Distribution) announcing that they are developing another “Men in Black” movie. He also confirmed they’re hard at work on a “Ghostbusters” sequel and “Spider-Man 4”.

When talking about these projects, he mentioned the year 2011. I don’t know if that means we can expect to see these movies in that year, or if that’s just their goal right now.

The important thing to take from his remarks is when the President of a company says movie titles to a crowd of theater owners; it means they’re serious about the project.

While the “Men in Black” franchise has been dormant for a number of years, I think audiences would love to go back to that world if the film is done right. And don’t get me started at how excited I am to see the “Ghostbusters” reunited.

Look for a full report in a few minutes.
