Bradley Cooper in Discussions to Star in GREEN LANTERN

Bradley Cooper is becoming fairly ubiquitous.  After having a solid supporting role on a few seasons of "Alias" and headline Fox's failed television adaptation of Anthony Bourdain's "Kitchen Confidential", Cooper has made sure to stay on movie screens with supporting roles in "Yes Man", "He's Just Not That Into You", and this summer's "The Hangover".  Now Drew over at HitFix is saying that Cooper is on the short-list to star in Martin Campbell's adaptation of DC Comics' "Green Lantern".

Drew makes sure to note that this isn't a wish-list or taking-a-meeting type non-sense but that solid sources are telling him that Cooper is the one to bet on for taking this movie.  It's a sensible choice.  My only concern is if Cooper can be charismatic enough.  Heroes, unless they're Batman, have to be likable.  Furthermore, one without the popularity of Green Lantern has to be able to draw people in and while Cooper may be able to do that post-"Hangover", he can't do it right now.

It's an interesting turn of events and I look forward to seeing how this all shakes out as the film is scheduled to go before cameras this summer.
