I would really like to know more about the Spanish Civil War but that would require research and reading and so I just prefer to watch "Pan's Labyrinth" and try to remember my junior year of high school when we learned about "For Whom The Bell Tolls".*  Soon I'll be able to add "Catalonia" to my store of semi-knowledge of this history as Colin Firth and Kevin Spacey have come on board to star in Hugh Hudson's adaptation of George Orwell's true account of how he and his wife fought Stalinists in Barcelona and joined the Anarchists to fight in the Spanish Civil War.

According to Variety, the film will highlight the relationship between Orwell and Georges Kopp, the charismatic commander of the brigade.  I'm not sure who's playing Orwell and who's playing Kopp because that would require actual reporting on Variety's part and that's too much to ask.  I'm assuming that Firth and Spacey are playing neither role and will in fact play giant badgers in a surrealistic take on these events.  There's nothing in the Variety story that contradicts that assumption.

*Answer: You're not supposed to ask, but it's Thee.
