Frosty goes to Hawaii for SURF’S UP

So why did I get to go visit Hawaii?

While I’ve screamed it loud enough so you all know the answer, someone will be reading this for the first time so give me a second. The good folks at Sony decided their new CGI Penguin movie “Surf’s Up” needed a special location for the junket and since it was all about surfing… they made the brilliant decision to hold it in Hawaii. I definitely think more studios need to catch up with Sony’s brilliance.

Rather than bore you with the mundane details of the trip, just know the junket was scheduled on a Saturday so most of the journalists arrived on Friday night and were scheduled to leave on Sunday. I arrived late Friday and met up with some friends… sorry, I forgot my camera that night.

On Saturday morning we all boarded buses from our hotel and were shuttled over to the Kahala Resort where the roundtable interviews were scheduled to be held. Since I got there a bit early, I decided to walk around the hotel and discovered that in the back area they had dolphins! In fact they put on a dolphin show at the hotel and while I didn’t have a chance to see it, I’m sure it’s great. I did watch the handlers give the dolphins some food and hopefully you can see that in the pictures.

After the morning junket we were free to do what we wanted until that night. While some went home to update and write, most of the people used the time to walk around and see the sights. The only thing that we all had to be at was a luau that Sony was putting on that night. While I have some pictures of the event, it’s for a different article….

What I’m going to be posting below are all the images I took on that Saturday and Sunday. It starts out at the junket hotel and it goes to a boat trip I took with some fellow journalists. I’ll be captioning as I go so you can follow along.

Once again a big thank you to Sony for inviting me to the junket!

This is an image of the roundtable room that the interviews took place in. I took this before everyone set up.

In the following images you can see the area around the junket hotel and how beautiful it was.
