CORALINE Trailer Creeps Out

Cineplex has the first trailer for Henry Sellick's upcoming adaptation of Neil Gaiman's "Coraline". Contrary to what the trailer says, you don't need 3-D glasses to enjoy it. You should never need 3-D glasses to watch a fucking trailer ever. And looking at this non-3-D trailer, I think the film looks amazing without the 3-D! Was stop-motion animation not hard enough anymore? Is the Digital 3-D trend so prevalent that if there's the slightest opening for it (say like, an opening to another world), that the film must become 3-D? I wouldn't watch "Beowulf" without the 3-D but this looks great already. Maybe I'm just a sucker for stop-motion but I'm praying that the 3-D will be a help instead of a hindrance.
