Opening on March 28th is the movie “21.” The films about a group of very smart M.I.T. students who use their math skills to count cards in Las Vegas and they end up making a ton of money. Of course, when you mix a ton of money with alcohol, love and not being ready for that kind of success, inevitably things will go wrong.

I managed to see the film last night and thought it was a fun, glossy Hollywood movie that will probably do well. While it’s not going to win any end of the year awards, it’s definitely a fun popcorn movie. After all, who doesn’t wish they could count cards and make a ton of money in Las Vegas every time they play.

Anyway, Sony is doing the press junket next week in Las Vegas and since I’m already there for ShoWest…I think I’ll be covering it. So look for interviews with the cast soon. Until then, here’s the official synopsis and 8 movie clips. Enjoy.

Ben Campbell (Jim Sturgess) is a shy, brilliant M.I.T. student who - needing to pay school tuition - finds the answers in the cards.  He is recruited to join a group of the school's most gifted students that heads to Vegas every weekend armed with fake identities and the know-how to turn the odds at blackjack in their favor.  With unorthodox math professor and stats genius Micky Rosa (Kevin Spacey) leading the way, they've cracked the code.  By counting cards and employing an intricate system of signals, the team can beat the casinos big time.  Seduced by the money, the Vegas lifestyle, and by his smart and sexy teammate, Jill Taylor (Kate Bosworth), Ben begins to push the limits.  Though counting cards isn't illegal, the stakes are high, and the challenge becomes not only keeping the numbers straight, but staying one step ahead of the casinos' menacing enforcer: Cole Williams (Laurence Fishburne).

The film is directed by Robert Luketic and it’s based on the book "Bringing Down The House" by Ben Mezrich.
