Ridley Scott and Leonardo DiCaprio Hate Down-Time

Okay, for those keeping score, here are all the projects Ridley Scott is doing right now: He just finished "Body of Lies" with Leonardo DiCaprio (whose work schedule will get to in a minute), he's prepping "Nottingham", and there are all those other films he might potentially do: the Stonehenge-thriller, "Stones", a film about the Gucci (yes, the clothes) dynasty, and that Monopoly movie based on the board game. I don't think that last one will ever happen but I'll be sure to keep bringing it up every time he attaches himself to a project because it's so fucking ridiculous that a director of his stature would consider doing a film that speaks so loudly to Hollywood's creative bankruptcy.
Then there's DiCaprio who's finishing up "Shutter Island", possibly re-teaming with "The Departed" screenwriter William Monahan for a remake of the Korean serial-killer thriller "The Chaser", an adaptation of the political drama "Farragut North", and still finding time to produce the live-action version of "Akira".
This kind of behavior is what keeps Red Bull in business.
Expect another boost to the energy drink industry now that Scott and DiCaprio have signed on to "The Low Dewller", a first script from a Pennsylvania insurance salesman named Brad Ingelsby. I don't know if his script is any good or not (although Scott and DiCaprio both have an eye for solid screenplays), but by getting paid $650,000 against $1.1 million, I'd say that's an aspiring screenwriter's dream come true. Maybe I'm just in a good mood but I can't muster any cynicism against that. Good for Mr. Ingelsby.
As for the plot, the film is set in Indiana in the mid-1980s, and centers on a man (DiCaprio) trying to assimilate into society after he's released from jail, only to find someone from his past pursuing him to settle a score. In addition to the pursuer, a third male character and a female love interest are said to figure prominently in the script.
That doesn't sound half-bad. There really aren't enough film set in Indiana. Hopefully DiCaprio's character will swing by Shaprio's Deli on his way to the Indy 500 or something.
Shill for your family's business here.
