Hugh Jackman going NOWHERE

Hugh Jackman is apparently under the impression that there aren’t enough original comic book characters out there to satisfy him. The “X Men Evolutions: Wolverine” star has teamed with writer Davis Guggenheim to create a brand new comic series with Virgin Comics called “Nowhere Man.” And before one issue has been released, plans are already under way to adapt the comic for film with Jackman in the lead.
“Nowhere Man” will have an “I Am Legend” feel, set in a “futuristic world where mankind has traded privacy for safety.” Good concept, but I think the housemates on “Big Brother” have already locked that one down.
Jackman said that he has “had so much fun in the graphic novel world… that I wanted to get even more involved.” Look out then. He had fun on Broadway too, and his idea of “getting more involved” with musical theatre led to a little show called “Viva Laughlin.” If you missed it on CBS, consider yourself fortunate.
I realize that comics are the golden ticket to getting a film project greenlighted these days, but shouldn’t the comic at least come out first? Does a comic have any cred with fans when it is just an excuse by its writer not to have to turn in a screenplay?
Making all his nowhere plans for nobody here.
