Cohen had sold the rights to his “Da Ali G Show” character Bruno (a gay, Austrian TV Host) to Universal for a late October release. Info on whether “Bruno” would follow the “Borat” mold or be a more traditionally scripted film was not really known, until angry Kansas residents started complaining to their local papers that they were being harassed by “inappropriate” behavior from a “European Man” who had obtained permission to film in the state. First Bruno (let’s all just agree that this IS Cohen loose in Kansas and that he IS filming “Bruno”) visited the Wichita Airport where he stripped down before “kissing” and “fighting” and then got kicked out. Here’s the story.

Sascha Baron Cohen chose Kansas wisely. If there is any state in the union that deserves to be fucked with… and hard… by a chain wearing, super-gay fake journalist it is Kansas. This is the state that brought us the “evolution is just a theory” school board ruling and the horror that is Senator Sam Brownback. Kansas residents may feel that they were “duped” by the film crew, but lighten up folks. You live in Kansas. Aren’t you used to being duped by now?
