THE WACKNESS Trailer

Over the past few months I’ve written a lot of words on director Jonathan Levine’s movie “The Wackness.” The reason is…the movie is AWESOME. It was easily my favorite from this year’s Sundance Film Festival and it’s a movie that once you see it…you’ll understand why everyone is talking about it.
Here’s the new, official synopsis:
It's the summer of 1994, and the streets of New York are pulsing with hip-hop and wafting with the sweet aroma of marijuana--but change is in the air. The newly-inaugurated mayor, Rudy Giuliani, is beginning to implement his anti-fun initiatives against "crimes" like noisy portable radios, graffiti and public drunkenness.
Set against this backdrop, Luke Shapiro (Josh Peck) spends his last summer before college selling dope throughout New York City, trading it with his shrink (Ben Kingsley) for therapy, while crushing on his step-daughter (Olivia Thirlby). Famke Janssen, Mary Kate Olsen, and Method Man round out the cast in this edgy, bittersweet, and funny coming of age story.
Anyway, the trailer just premiered on MTV and I’ve posted it below. However, MTV has a much better HD version so I’d recommend checking it out there.
Finally, below the trailer are a few new images that were just released. You can expect a lot more coverage of this movie as it gets closer to it’s July 3rd release.
