I think M. Night Shaymalan's name hadn't been wrecked by "The Village" and "Lady in the Water" (the later of which is half-brilliant and half-laughably-terrible), then I think he would have the artistic cache to lure people with his non-premise on display in "The Happening".  SOMETHING is happening but I couldn't tell you what.  Night may have something totally-brilliant on his hands here or something totally-laughably-terrible, but I admire that he's not half-assing it.
