O.C. and Gossip Girl creator Josh Schwartz told BlackBookMag.com that he is writing up the prequel to the "X-Men" trilogy. Inadvertently, Brett Ratner did something good by totally turning me off the films with "The Last Stand" because otherwise, I'd be rather pissed about this development. I've tried to sit through and episode of "The O.C." and I've tried to sit through an episode of "Gossip Girl" and withhold judgment and I couldn't do it. I lasted fifteen minutes before I could no longer take pretty white people spout puerile, contrived dialogue at one another.
But if that formula ain't broke (and from the look at the amount of people that tuned into Schwartz' previous show, it ain't), then don't fix it. So Schwartz will be taking it back to Xavier's School. Finally, a movie about Jubliee and Wing and Armor and maybe even that kid from "X2" who blinked his eyes to change the TV channels!
I know some may want to point to the quality of NBC's "Chuck" on which Schwartz's is a co-executive producer. But I would like to give credit for that show to the other executive producer, Chris Fedak because he didn't make two shows that made me wish today's youth would spend their time doing better things, like watching MTV or mutilating their genitals.
