About three weeks ago, the trailer for the upcoming “Star Wars: The Clone Wars” animated movie leaked onto cyberspace and many of us saw it. As I said when I posted it….
“I have no idea how this movie will play with mainstream audiences as the “Star Wars” brand isn’t what it used to be, I’ll admit the animation I saw at ShoWest was quite good. But…I just didn’t care about the story...at all.
My big question about the series and movie is...why set it in a time where nothing can happen to any of the major characters. After all, with the movie and show taking place between episodes 2 and 3, you already know no one is going to die (that you care about) and nothing that dramatic can happen as it would destroy the timeline.

I think if they were going to make a “Star Wars” animated series or movie, they should have made it take place thousands of years before the first film or thousands of years after the last one. That way all the “Star Wars” fans that wanted to know more about the universe would have a vested interest in watching. As it is…the only reason to tune in now is to watch great animation.”
Anyway, StarWars.com has just announced the trailer will be officially released this Thursday. The plan is to invade the entire Turner Network at 7:58 p.m. and show the trailer on Cartoon Network, TNT, TBS, CNN, and Boomerang. Needless to say, that’s a nice little roadblock. But if you’re not watching TV at that exact moment, I’m sure a great quality HD version will premiere online moments after.
So if you can’t wait the two days for the trailer, here’s an updated synopsis and the just released poster. Both come from StarWars.com.
On the front lines of an intergalactic struggle between good and evil, fans young and old will join such favorite characters as Anakin Skywalker, Obi-Wan Kenobi and Padmé Amidala, along with brand-new heroes like Anakin's padawan learner, Ahsoka. Sinister villains -- led by Palpatine, Count Dooku and General Grievous -- are poised to rule the galaxy. Stakes are high, and the fate of the Star Wars universe rests in the hands of the daring Jedi Knights. Their exploits lead to the action-packed battles and astonishing new revelations that fill Star Wars: The Clone Wars.
