Continuing the recent spree of unnecessary 80's remake plans, Hollywood Reporter has word that someone spun the wheel and that it just landed on "Highlander".

While I'd love to cry foul about them ruining the franchise with a remake, that's just not something anyone can do with a straight face. These days, "Highlander" consists largely of convincing people they should purchase replica swords.

Art Marcum and Matt Holloway, half the screenwriters of "Iron Man" (but also half of "Punisher: War Zone"), are in charge of scripting the remake but without the epic rock stylings of Queen to cement their dialogue, they've got their work cut out for them.

Strangely enough, the same article mentions that they've turned in a draft for a remake of "Convoy" for Paramount. If Kris Kristofferson, Ali MacGraw and Ernest Borgnine are somehow able to cameo as their original characters, all will be forgiven. I don't just mean in terms of remaking silly properties. I mean the sum-total of human digression.

Normally I would include a link to the Hollywood Reporter story, to see why I haven't, read this.
