Seth Rogen and his "Superbad" co-scribe Evan Goldberg have sold the rights to their action/comedy adventure pic "Jay and Seth vs. the Apocalypse," according to Daily Variety. The concept for the film (um, two guys named Jay and Seth who face the apocalypse) was first written as a comedy short by Goldberg and Jason Stone. Rogen and his "Knocked Up" co-star Jay Baruchel headlined that short – hence the title. Since a trailer for the piece first surfaced last summer, various production companies have been vying for the title, with Mandate Pictures the winner as of yesterday.
"Jay and Seth" punctuates how in demand material by Rogen and Goldberg is in Hollywood right now. Their next Apatow-produced pic, "Pineapple Express" will hit theatres on August 8th, and the pair is also penning a "Green Hornet" remake for Sony.
