WB Goes into HIDING

Variety has the word that Warner Bros. has snatched "Hiding in Time", a high-concept sci-fi action story that was told last year in an Image comics miniseries. Remember when everyone raved about that one hitting the stands? Me neither.
The story -- which sound gloriously silly -- has the Witness Protection Program sending people back through time to hide their identities. Then an assassin goes and spoils it all by time-traveling himself and killing them. To save the day, a government scientist goes back himself and time adventures ensue. I'm betting the witnesses are placed in really interesting time periods during critical historical events. Just like how -- in real life -- witnesses are usually sent to exciting and dangerous high-profile lives.
The real winner here is going to be the internet whose message boards will no doubt -- upon the movie's release -- be filled with deep, meaningful discussion as to the plausibility of such a program. I'm just curious to learn the excuse the film comes up with for why -- if we have time travel technology -- we need witnesses in the first place.
