CAPTAIN AMERICA Requires More Bland

Is it just me or does it seem like Marvel's trying to phone it in with their Captain America and Thor movies? They got the biggies done with Iron Man and Hulk and now for the super-duper "Avengers" flick to come together, they need to get down to brass tacks and just crank out these origin movies before Summer 2011 rolls around.
The first substantial piece of news with Captain America was that capable but apparently-indifferent director Joe Johnston was on board to helm the flick. I got no problem with Johnston but I don't see his passion or insight into the project and Captain America needs that because as a character, he's fucking boring. Maybe if you're using him as a foil or against the backdrop of a larger conflict like "Civil War", but on his own he's about on the same level as Ghost Rider in that someone scribbled an idea and that idea got to be a comic book for about forty years.
The writers who will have to take that bland idea and turn it into a motion picture are "Chronicles of Narnia" scribes Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely (the molesting brother of "Grey's Anatomy's" McDreamy and McSteamy and who will be mocked in that respect until he dies).
This is a great decision because I know that when I think of the two "Chronicles of Narnia" films, I think of the writing and certainly not the Christian allegory.
Good luck to these guys. I don't envy their task of trying to make Captain America interesting.
