New Images from NIGHT AT THE MUSEUM 2: Battle of the Smithsonian

While “Night at the Museum” wasn’t exactly embraced by critics, the film made almost $600 million dollars at the worldwide box office. In fact, it was the most successful film of Ben Stiller’s career. So it was no surprise when 20th Century Fox green lit the sequel and Ben was willing to go back.

What was a surprise were how many actors got signed to be in the sequel. From what I can tell, if you had a Screen Actor’s Guild card, you were cast in “Night at the Museum 2: Battle of the Smithsonian”. While that’s a slight exaggeration, look at this cast: Robin Williams, Dick Van Dyke, Owen Wilson, Ricky Gervais, Christopher Guest, Hank Azaria, Eugene Levy, Bill Hader and Amy Adams.

Anyway, with the sequel set for release next May 22nd, 20th Century Fox has given USA Today some new images to premiere and some of them are below. Here are the rest. From what I can tell, I don’t think they’re straying too far from the formula of the first film.
