Like most of the actors who have traveled to Park City for this year's Sundance Film Festival, "Saturday Night Live" star Bill Hader came to promote a movie – Greg Mottola's "Adventureland". Unlike most actors, however, Hader was relatively free with the info on a project that is still in the very early stages of development - a slasher film for producer Judd Apatow.
Hader spoke at length with Devin from CHUD and told him that he and fellow SNL writer Simon Rich are indeed writing a horror-comedy at the behest of Mr. Apatow.
"I don't know if it's even going to get made… Judd met with us and said 'I want to do a horror movie with you. I want to see you in a slasher movie."'
So what would a slasher movie from the house of Apatow look like?
"It's partially 'Straw Dogs' meets 'Halloween' meets 'Home Alone' meets 'Monster Squad'."
Hader, somewhat cagily, elaborates that his slasher-comedy would be more-like a buddy movie that plays on the popularity of real-life crime series like "Forensics Files" – because if there was ever a genre that needed to make with the funny, it's "CSI:" and the like.
