Men do not collect dolls.  They collect action figures.  Action figures have points of articulation, weapons, and recall cool movies and TV shows.  Dolls are for girls. 

This has always been the standard defense.  Mattel is tearing down that defense in a line of dolls that I feel have been crafted out of pure mockery.  On the one hand, I want to think it's cool that maybe girls will buy an Uhura Barbie doll.  On the other hand I feel like "Star Trek" nerds are going to horde these up as collector's items and display these dolls prominently in their collection.  If you are one of these collectors or just want to buy these for your imaginary daughter, the dolls will go on sale at Wal-Mart, walmart.com, barbiecollector.com, and Babrie collector deals.  The dolls will cost $43.19 and a little bit of your dignity for all three.
