Yes the Transformers trailer was released yesterday. And yes, I would have liked to have posted it earlier. But if you look at the front page of Collider, you might notice some changes. Jeremy (Beaks) has his own section. We have some new banner sizes and a podcast button. And what you can’t see are all the changes behind the scenes. Basically I have been busy, and all of this has made posting very difficult.
Now that the upgrade is almost done, back to business.
In case you are unaware, there is a Transformers movie coming next summer, specifically July 4th. To get ready for next summer, the good folks at Paramount/DreamWorks put together a teaser trailer that was supposed to launch next week. But when demand is high, the internet will find away to speed up the process.
Due to images and clips leaking online, the studio decided to launch the trailer yesterday. If you are one of the three people that haven’t had a chance to check it out, go here to watch it.
While the trailer only shows a shadow of an actual Transformer, I don’t care. I am one of the few that really loves Michael Bay as a filmmaker and cannot wait to see what he has up his sleeve with this film. Say what you will, he is an artist. When he gets a hundred million dollars, you can see it up on screen.
Finally, for of all you going to Comic-Con this year, I would expect that we are going to see something cool regarding this movie. While I cannot guarantee that, it would be shocking for the studio to not embrace the rabid geek audience in San Diego. The question really is, have they completed any actual Transformer footage that they might want to show, or, will they possibly just show us some pre-visuals or test footage?
I’ll be there watching just like the thousands of others, remember comic-con is just a few short weeks away.
