Disney has released 5 movie clips from the upcoming Pixar movie “Ratatouille” and I’ve posted them below. And along with the movie clips they’ve also provided me with a video interview with Brad Bird and a featurette on making the movie.
However, before getting to the clips, I want to say a few quick words on the movie.
“Ratatouille” is one of the best movies I’ve seen this year and one of the finest animated movies I’ve ever seen. Watching the movie I was completely blown away by the level of animation and the way that Brad Bird captured the very heart of Paris.
In my life I’ve been fortunate to have traveled to many parts of the world and Paris is one of my favorite places. While the people can sometimes be less than friendly, there is no mistaking the beauty of the city and I love the way the light shines down the old stone streets. While many films have tried to capture the soul of the city and show what living there is really like, I give my highest compliments to the chef as “Ratatouille” was able to do more in an animated film than most live action movies.
While I’ve seen many films this year that I’ve really liked, it’s extremely rare for me to completely fall in love with a movie. “Ratatouille” is one of those rare movies that’s both perfect for adults and kids, and it’s one that will be cherished for generations to come. I cannot recommend this movie enough and I can’t wait to see it again.
And if you’ve been reading the site for awhile you’ll know I hardly give out praise like I just did. Go see the movie. You’ll love it.

And with that… here is the synopsis followed by some clips and more.
Academy Award-winning director Brad Bird (“The Incredibles”) and the amazing storytellers at Pixar Animation Studios (“Cars,” “Finding Nemo”) take you into an entirely new and original world where the unthinkable combination of a rat and a 5-star gourmet restaurant come together for the ultimate fish-out-of-water tale.
In the hilarious new animated-adventure, RATATOUILLE, a rat named Remy dreams of becoming a great chef despite his family’s wishes and the obvious problem of being a rat in a decidedly rodent-phobic profession. When fate places Remy in the city of Paris, he finds himself ideally situated beneath a restaurant made famous by his culinary hero, Auguste Gusteau. Despite the apparent dangers of being an unwanted visitor in the kitchen at one of Paris’ most exclusive restaurants, Remy forms an unlikely partnership with Linguini, the garbage boy, who inadvertently discovers Remy’s amazing talents. They strike a deal, ultimately setting into motion a hilarious and exciting chain of extraordinary events that turns the culinary world of Paris upside down.
Remy finds himself torn between following his dreams or returning forever to his previous existence as a rat. He learns the truth about friendship, family and having no choice but to be who he really is, a rat who wants to be a chef.
