Who says that no exciting news is made on a Saturday? Just feast your eyes on the juicy press release we received this very day:
Shannen Doherty returns to the zip code that made her famous when she guest stars in multiple episodes of The CW's spin-off, "90210," premiering Tuesday, September 2, it was announced today at the network's annual Television Critics' Association Summer Press Tour.
OMG! I can not believe it - Brenda is coming back to West Beverly!
Why aren't you excited? You don't consider this exciting news, you say? You don't really like Shannen Doherty and don't give a shit about the new "90210" spin-off?
Neither do I, in fact. In my opinion the most interesting thing about Shannen Doherty is the fact that she supposedly bitch-slapped Paris Hilton for screwing her ex, Rick Salomon (yeah – the sex-tape guy). The original "90210" never set me on fire, and the latest incarnation of Aaaron Spelling's monster is only lacking a guest spot from Tiffani Amber Thiessen to cross over into the realm of complete self-parody.
Just in case you are interested in this story, however, here are the details on Doherty's triumphant return trip to "90210" land – convincing back story and all:
Doherty will reprise her role as Brenda Walsh, who was last seen headed to London to study acting. Following her move, Brenda became a successful theater actress, splitting her time between London and New York. The character soon transitioned into directing for theater and had equal success in that career. West Beverly Hills High School has approached Walsh to return to her alma mater as a guest director for the school's musical production
