The first image of Jackie Earle Haley as Freddy Krueger in the remake/reboot of “A Nightmare on Elm Street” has been released (via MySpace). While I’m sure many of you want to see a clear image of Freddy, I think this is the perfect way to tease everyone. After all, Freddy comes to you in dreams, so what better way to start than by letting you imagine what the rest of his face looks like. After the jump is the full image.

Also, I just posted my preview piece about going to the set of “A Nightmare on Elm Street”, so click here to check it out.

a_nightmare_on_elm_street_set_photo_jackie_earle_haley_freddy_krueger_01.jpgJoBlo has landed the first set photos from Platinum Dunes’ upcoming reboot of “A Nightmare on Elm Street”.  Now before you look at the photo to the right or any of the other photos JoBlo posted and freak the fuck out–take a deep breath.  This is a flashback scene.  That’s why he doesn’t have his blades or his scarred face.  It’s either that or they’re taking this film in direction that will piss off just about everyone.  I really hope it’s the later.  Still, you can see the iconic shirt and hat but it’s a little tricky to see Haley’s face (I’m gonna be really embarassed if that’s a body double, stunt guy, or younger version meant for the flashback).  In any case, it’s very cool to see this film rolling and hopefully it will be as successful as “Friday the 13th” was earlier this year.
