Heat Vision Blog is reporting that Vera Farmiga (The Departed, Up in the Air) and Michelle Monaghan (Gone Baby Gone, Eagle Eye) are joining the cast of Source Code, Duncan Jones' follow-up to his acclaimed debut, Moon. Source Code tells the story of a soldier (Jake Gyllenhaal) who signs up for an experimental government program (like there could be any other kind) that places his consciousness into the body of a civilian who experiences a train bombing. Gyllenhaal's character must live and re-live the bombing until he finds out who set it up. Guiding him through this process will be Farmiga, playing a tough communications officer. Likely complicating matters is Michelle Monaghan who will portray another commuter who is romantically involved with the man Gyllenhaal is possessing.

Though his involvement with Source Code means that Jones will be delayed in making his Blade Runner homage, Mute, it is heartening to see a rather high caliber crop of actors joining this project. Hopefully, Jones is able to make another great film and continue his rise.
