Variety reports that Marvel's upcoming Super Hero Squad has found a home with THQ games.

The concept for the series comes from a successful line of toys aimed at toddlers, inspired by the Marvel superheroes. Set to be launched sometime next year on an as-of-yet-undetermined network, the series will feature Marvel favorites in family-friendly adventures.

The license allows for multiple games based on the franchise, the first of which will launch in late 2009. More games will follow and the partnership could lead to future collaborations with between THQ and Marvel regarding other characters.

In addition to the series and the toy line, Marvel has a comic book series planned. If you're keeping tabs, that's a comic book based on a tv show based on a toy line based on a comic book. Post-modernism must be rolling in its grave.

Check out Variety's original article here.
