It's difficult to pull me away from "Rock Band 2".  Yes, I have a few complaints with the game: I think the learning curve between medium and hard is too steep; I think the boards for medium in RB2 aren't as challenging as they were in RB1; people need to stop telling me to grow a pair and try playing guitar on hard.

But the game is excellent and every night I find myself either trying a new challenge, completing a venue, or making sure that I'm #1 on my Friends List for Battle of the Bands.  It's an experience made all the richer by the ability to customize your band.  My quartet is called "The Divine Comedians" and I've used the new "Merch Booth" feature to share them with you all.  You may notice that my "band" only features one character but that's because another one of RB2's minor flaws is the inability to transfer characters from one Gamer Profile to another (sorry Mar, looks like we'll have to re-create everyone).  You may also notice that my band's logo puts yours to shame.  Your band's logo is probably cutting itself right now.

But you won't just be sharing these digital creations online.  No, you can bring your band into the real world by ordering bumper stickers, posters, and even figurines of your characters.  To me, this is what makes "Rock Band" special: it's not about who can get the highest score or even about the best songs available (although I'll personally be downloading six DLC tracks today); it's about making you feel like you're a rock star*.

*Minus the sex and the drugs but hey, there's always "Rock Band 3".
